JOB DESCRIPTION :

Security Officer– Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Location: Basingstoke North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital (Winchester) Role Description: As a Security Officer you’ll be a key member of the hospital team ensuring that staff and visitors remain safe and the building remains secure. You will be responsible for lockdown of the hospital, attend security incidents and, where necessary, take appropriate measures to ensure the protection of staff and patients.

• Ability to communicate with staff, visitors and patients under challenging circumstances
• Experience in conflict resolution, diffusion and brake away techniques
• Previous experience working in an operational or customer services role
• Able to remain calm under pressure and in difficult situations

We respond to all security incidents, liaise with emergency services personnel and are a key link when escalating in the event of a major incident. You’ll join an experienced team operating in Basingstoke and Winchester hospitals and offer advice and support to Andover War Memorial Hospital. You’ll join a shift rotation working 12-hour shifts covering days, nights, weekends and bank holidays in a 4 on 4 off pattern. About the trust: The vision at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is to provide outstanding care for every patient.
